About Pulane

Pulane Baloyi is a Marketing professional with experience in marketing, resource mobilisation, organizational leadership, senior programme management, social and behavior change communication, strategy development and implementation, change management/organizational development, programme design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder management and partnerships as well as donor management.

Pulane holds a national Diploma and a B Tech degree in marketing and qualified as a Chartered Marketer in 2014.

Pulane has worked in senior management positions for large local and international organisations in the NGO sector, and overseen programmes that aim to create an enabling environment for children and youth through life-skills, economic strengthening (sustaining livelihoods), learner academic attainment, as well as programmes that aims to tackle health and social issues for communities.

Pulane has a track record in developing organisations strategies, annual plans development, creating and executing innovative programme ideas, programme design and conceptualization that attracts funding and that can be scaled up for greater impact. A few examples are: developing an annual plan and overseeing the implementation of the Soul Buddys Club children’s programme, developing a curriculum and setting up the new Rise Young Women’s clubs in five provinces as well as overseeing the implementation of a programme aimed at empowering Girls and Young Women, Gender transformation, i.e. taking recommendations from the Gender Audit and turn them into realistic action plans (setting up a gender committee and providing leadership support to the gender committee members).

Pulane is passionate about developing turnaround strategies for programmes and organisations. Pulane has provided leadership and oversight for the USAID funded DREAMS Initiative, a programme aimed at empowering girls and young women’s club. She pioneered securing a five-year grant for Grassroot Soccer South Africa from the Ford Foundation for Institutional Strengthening and formulated & implemented an organisational development strategy for the organisation to strengthen Finance, Operations and HR structures.

Pulane has successfully raised and secured funding for diverse programmes and amongst these was a matching grant from Wilde Ganzen, the USAID funded DREAMS initiative and the Bridge funding as an implementing partner to FHI360, Gender Based Programme for Isizinda Sempilo.

Pulane has reengineered a governance structure within Grassroot Soccer
South Africa and ensured the successful implementation of a governance model for the organisation.

Pulane is currently working Malamulele Onward and the Executive Director.

Pulane was a member of the Board of Directors for Malamulele Onward for seven years of which she was the Board Chairperson for four years. Malamulele onward provides services and offer innovative solutions to improve the quality of life of children with Cerebral Palsy and their families, since 2017. In 2020, she was appointed as the Board Chairperson for the organisation.

Pulane Baloyi is also Board member for Mongato Foundation.
