At Malamulele Onward, we are a passionate community of therapists, parents, volunteers, and advocates working together to improve the lives of children living with cerebral palsy.
Our team brings together professional knowledge and lived experience, allowing us to understand the real challenges families face and to develop meaningful, practical solutions that make a difference.
We believe that every child with cerebral palsy—no matter where they live—deserves access to rehabilitation, supportive equipment, and opportunities to grow and participate fully in everyday life. In many rural communities, families often have little access to therapy or information, and caregivers can feel isolated while trying to support their children. Our work focuses on bridging this gap by strengthening cerebral palsy services and supporting the people who care for these children every day.
Our organisation is child-centred and family-focused. We understand that a child’s development is shaped not only by therapy, but also by the support of family members, neighbours, and local health services. That is why we work to create supportive environments where children with CP and their caregivers can feel empowered, connected, and hopeful about the future.
Since our beginnings in a small pilot project at Malamulele Hospital, our work has grown into a network of programmes supporting children with cerebral palsy and their families across multiple rural communities. By providing training, mentorship, and long-term support for therapists and caregivers, we help build sustainable rehabilitation services that can continue to serve children close to home.
We know that we don’t have every answer, but we listen carefully to the children and families we serve. Their experiences guide our work and help us improve what we do each year. Our commitment is simple: to keep learning, keep collaborating, and keep creating opportunities for children with cerebral palsy to thrive—wherever they live.
